Chuck Jones Center For Creativity

Through public educational programs and exhibitions based on the art, writing, teachings, and unique philosophy of Chuck Jones, our growing creative community inspires joy and innovation in people of all ages, energizing them to transform their lives, their communities, and society as a whole.

Picking up the slack while school arts funding dies on the vine.

170 Million Americans For Public Broadcasting

Gee, big surprise that Republicants, once back in power (however marginalized it may be in the U.S. House of Representatives) would wage war on any and all federally funded social and educationally vital programs.

It’s bad enough they’re firing U.S. teachers to stave off state and local government budget crises. But hey, if American students’ education suffers, so be it: China’s gonna need a servant class when they take over the world anyway.

But, as usual, lawmakers are tone (and stone) deaf to what their constituents want and support.

Pie chart of poll data showing 69% of Americans are against eliminating funding for Public Broadcasting.

Perhaps concerned voters should contact their elected officials and urge them to draft legislation prohibiting the kids and grandkids of Republicants voting to defund Public Broadcasting from watching Sesame Street.

The Letter of the Day is “hypocrite.”

The Crisis Of Credit Visualized

Entertaining. Concise. Scary as shit. CNBC ought to pinkslip their stable of hair-on-fire windbags and corporate fat cat apologists, and marathon these videos during the trading day instead.

Most disturbing, though, is that, once again, it takes a cartoon to cut the crusts off of an important social/economic/political issue in order for my gray matter to want to eat it.

I do remain comforted by the fact that, as Judge Smails says, “The world needs ditch diggers too.” (via)
