The Wacky Packages Web Site! (dot com)

Baseball cards didn’t do it for me as a kid. There was an obligatory albeit brief comic book phase, but then I met MAD Magazine (my dad was a fan – he’d even kept a few of his teenage favorites).

Wacky Packages seemed like an extension of MAD… and they came with bubble gum.

Steve Dahl Off The Chicago Airwaves After 30 Years

Depending on who you talk to, he’s either a radio personality or a shock jock. New York had Stern. Chicago has had Dahl.

Ruled the radio roost with cohort Garry Meier until their ‘93 split, and never quite regained his creative footing, though his antics were still head-and-shoulders above the fray.

Always made it a point to tune him in whenever visiting the city, even if finding his show on the dial became more like a scavenger hunt the past few years.

Not looking forward to the dead air.
